I am what is so fondly referred to as a struggling author. Actually, for me, that is quite a misnomer. I do not struggle much with the art of writing (yes, there is the occasional writer's block) but more with finding the time to write. I am currently employed as a locksmith by the Metro Transit Authority in Los Angeles, California. I try to use commuting time (via train) to get some writing done. I find my creative juices flow best early in the morning so much of my writing is done on the weekends.
My wife, Sheila, and I live with our three sons in Rancho Cucamonga, located in sunny Southern California, about fifty miles from Los Angeles. My parents still live in the house I grew up in about twenty five miles from us and my brother and sister in law live in the same town. My mother in law lives down the street (no, really, its a good thing). We will have been married twenty years this September (2011). We have a dog, a Rotweiller named Katie who is the biggest baby in the world.
I have been writing since I was a kid. My mother still has the story of "The Magic Key" that I wrote in about second or third grade.
I recently obtained a certification in Creative Writing from oDesk.com. There are several tests and ratings there.
